About Time
Webb Wilder
Landslide

It’s been nine years since Wilder’s last album, but don’t worry – he’s only gotten better in the interim.

There’s a little less speed rockabilly and a little more restraint, but this guy still has his childhood friend and Nashville producer-in-demand R.S. Field on board to keep him focused and contribute a handful of compositions.

The self-proclaimed “last of the full-grown men” also has a crack band backing him up, as usual, with Los Straitjackets drummer Jimmy Lester pounding the skins. Bucky Baxter, former Bob Dylan pedal steel guitarist, guests and provided his recording studio.

Besides the Field- and Wilder-penned tunes, and a Wilder co-write with Chuck Prophet, there’s a grab bag of songs by Johnny Burnette, Big Al Downing, Young Jessie, Johnny Copeland, Cliff Richard, RB Morris and Kevin Gordon.

Having consistently provided such great American music, there’s no reason not to certify Wilder heir apparent to his musical heroes, Dave Edmunds and Nick Lowe, aka Rockpile.
